Sunset & Cinema: Moms Club Private Salon Screening @ The Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center
Our Moms Club screening in Laguna Beach was one of those rare evenings where everything seemed to align.
The day began gray and rainy, with clouds hanging low over the coast. But just before the screening, the skies opened up and gave way to a stunning Laguna sunset—one of those moments that felt almost symbolic of the night ahead. As the light broke through, people gathered at the Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center, ready to share in something meaningful together.
Hosting the screening at the Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center made the evening even more special. Laguna Beach has a long and rich history of “Artivism”—where art is used not just to inspire, but to challenge, question, and create change. From its roots as an artist colony to its present-day creative community, Laguna has always been a place where storytelling and social impact intersect. To bring Moms Club into that space felt like a natural fit, and we’re proud to be part of that legacy.
Following the film, we held an engaging and insightful Q&A with the filmmakers and the moms, expertly moderated by Adam Rose of the LA Press Club. Adam continues to guide these conversations with clarity and depth, creating space for thoughtful dialogue around the film’s themes—investigation, community action, and the broader systems at play. The discussion touched on everything from the realities of organizing at the local level to the national implications of what’s unfolding in public education.
More than anything, the night was a reminder of the power of coming together in person—to share ideas, ask questions, and connect around something bigger than ourselves. In a time when so much happens online, these moments of real, face-to-face conversation feel more important than ever.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came out to support the film and be part of the conversation. Laguna Beach showed up in a big way, and we’re honored to have shared this experience with such a thoughtful and engaged community.
